Our dacenter's upstream carrier will be performing fiber optic maintenance and splicing work across the Frankfurt East region during this window. The work is being carried out by the underlying line infrastructure provider and affects multiple carriers in the area, not just our transit.
Our Frankfurt site is provisioned with redundant dark fiber feeds, but the carrier cannot confirm in advance which route sections and strands will be cut at any given moment. For that reason we are treating the entire 8-hour window as a potential full loss of connectivity to the Frankfurt location.
Expect intermittent packet loss, latency, or complete unreachability of any service hosted in Frankfurt (VPS, dedicated, game servers) at any point during the window. Compute and storage remain unaffected; this is purely a network reachability issue. Services will recover automatically once fiber connectivity is restored.
If you run critical workloads in Frankfurt, we recommend reviewing your own failover and confirming any backup routes or secondary locations ahead of the window.
